I love it! Thanks for your comment Chuck... this is the exchange I envisioned when I posted this article.... I wanted to share my favorites and learn more of what's out there.

The irony on Cowheard is that I like his podcast better than the actual show. Now I'm sure I miss somethings on the podcast that are fresh, but when I listen to him live it feels - sometimes - like a 45 minute show that is repeated and extended. On the podcast I get the best 25 minutes with no fluff. Interesting differences in opinions.... but I love his commentary and approach. He's smarter and more insightful than most people give him credit for.

I've not encountered an issue with the Ramsey show volumes or recordings.... most shows have their preset volumes but I've not noticed an issue......... I'm sure I will tomorrow!

I need to check out Dennis Miller.... I loved him as the news guy on SNL oh so many years ago. I didn't think he bloomed as I expected on MNF but I enjoyed him. I'll have to check him out on radio... and then petetion for more hours in a day to listen to all these things!

Dan Miller is good, I really like him, but I think he's an acquired taste on podcast. He's not bombastic and his stories are often repeated. but his message is pure and right on target. He's also accessible. I've exchanged emails with him and am reading his books. He's a genuine great guy.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting! I hope to see you around again soon!

Couldn't agree with you more about This American Life. The best thing out there.

I like Colin Cowherd...but only enough to catch him on the radio...not enough to download the podcast. His schtick is pretty much always the same...but his take on whatever's happening in sports is fun.

Love the free Dave Ramsey podcast...EXCEPT for the fact that it's very loud and somewhat distorted. I'm still subscribed, but not currently receiving new shows, but I wasn't listening due to the volume issues. I contacted the show about the issue, but they didn't care enough to respond or address it.

Also agree with NPR story of the day. But you didn't mention Terry Gross's Fresh Air. Best interview show anywhere. Period.

I listen to a couple of really good public radio podcasts out of NYC most days as well. Brian Lehrer and Leonard Lopate. Except for local NYC issues, they have some really excellent guests and info.

But the one I won't miss...3 hours a day...is The Dennis Miller Show. Love his politics, love the humor, love the guests. My local station only carries 2 of the 3 hours...so I pay to get the full podcast. Best talk radio I've heard in years.

I've heard Ramsey mention Dan Miller's book, but didn't realize he had a podcast. Will be checking that one out.
